Last year we were delighted that you participated in the Flower Festival as part of St John’s 175th Anniversary celebrations. The festival was an overwhelming success attracting over 60 stunning exhibits from various community groups and individuals as well as several hundred visitors from across the Farnham area. The feedback was incredibly positive with many people asking for this to become an annual part of our community diary.
Sadly, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the current lockdown has prevented us from bringing people together to do this again this year in the same way. However, we do not want to have to wait another year to be able to share and enjoy another celebration of flowers.
We will therefore be holding an online flower festival on the theme of “A Celebration of Summer Flowers” on the weekend of the 27th and 28th June. We would very much like you to take part again this year by photographing or videoing your flower arrangements, floral art or craft, gardens or flower beds all for submission by Friday 19th June to give us time to edit them all together. Being online this year instead of in the church provides opportunities for us to be even more creative and we want to encourage people from all ages to allow your floral imagination to flow to make this into another fantastic community project.
Please be creative – this really is not about endless vases of flower arrangements and is for all ages – children and adults.
To help the smooth planning of this event can you please confirm your entry by the 23rd May so that we can secure your place in the Flower Festival 2020.
We very much look forward to your involvement in this fantastic community event and I keenly await your reply.
